KangLi Collaborative
is rooted in an ethos of creating abundance
from loss.

Kevin Vollmers and Ryan Stopera have decades of experience working with non-profit organizations across Minnesota.  The foundation of our work is built on trust, relationships, and a commitment to creating positive change in our communities.

Kang, dedicated to Kevin's mother, and Li, a homage to Ryan's late sister, are both honored in our name, and act as a reminder that ancestors guide us all in overcoming challenges every day.

We are living in unprecedented times, and the difficulties we face have pushed us all to the edge.

Word on the street:

  • Wonderful to see this collaborative initiative by Ryan and Kevin, who have wide ranging perspectives, insights, and expertise in art, education, social science, and business. I’m honored to have known them for a long time and witnessed their dedication and hard work in creating positive change in all kinds of ways.

  • As a small nonprofit organization, we simply do not have the resources to bring this critical talent in house. As a result, we have struggled to share the great work we are doing with the world. Kevin and Ryan have taken the stress out of the tactical elements so that our team can continue to focus on the work. I always appreciate their intentionality, and deep care for the Foster community in every project we do. With their support, we were able to create a video campaign with our Foster leaders, increase partnerships in the community and begin strategizing our development and fundraising planning. In summary, Kevin and Ryan help us bring this important work to life. They have been a value add for our team, and I would highly recommend them.

Ariana Chamoun, Interim Executive Director, Foster Advocates

  • When we speak of solidarity work across experiences, backgrounds and sectors, Ryan and Kevin set a high standard and example for how Matriarchs should be valued and supported. Their active listening and communication skills of compassion and understanding fosters a caring and loving partnership. They are genuine and kind, which creates a trusting bond to build community power collectively.

We work with organizational leaders, their teams, and community members to identify challenges, implement changes, and execute a strategic vision to sustain their work into the future.
